You've Had a Birthday, Shout Hooray!
Ryan turned 2 on February 23rd. It landed on a Wednesday, which was nice because I didn't have to teach preschool so I was able to have fun with Ryan all day. We tried to make her birthday special for her by getting french fries as part of her lunch, Krispy Kreme Donuts (free on your birthday), and homemade mac and cheese for dinner. We had a birthday party the following Friday with my sister and close friends. She had fun and loves playing. I can't believe Ryan is already 2. It seems like we were just bringing her home from the hospital. Ryan is so much fun and we love watching her grow. We love you Ryan! We're so glad Heavenly Father sent you to be part of our family! Happy Birthday!

The Day For Lovers...
Once again...I'm late posting about what's been going on in the Blair home. For Valentine's Day Billy and I went on a date...this was huge for us. Ever since Ryan was born we've had a hard time leaving her with other people....specifically teenagers. We trust leaving her with friends, but don't like to call on them all the time...we don't want to be people who only call their friends when they need a babysitter. When Ryan was first born having a teenager watch her was out of the question. Will they be kind to her? What if she cries? We didn't want a teenager to get frustrated if Ryan was having a hard time and get upset at her or even hurt her. We definitely have concerns. As she's gotten older we've become a lot more open to having a "teenage babysitter." We had something for Billy's work to go to in January and Billy assured me he'd get a great student to watch Ryan. Well...we did. We had a girl named Abby from our ward watch Ryan and both did awesome! Ryan didn't even cry. She played the whole time. It went so well that we had Abby watch Ryan again so we could go to a Valentine Party for Valentine's Day. It was nice to have a date with Billy and know Ryan was well taken care of. Twice in 4 weeks...we're doing pretty good! :)
2006: Maternal Jams
For Valentine's Day Billy and I never get each other anything. In fact we rarely get each other anything for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, etc. Rather, we usually wait and buy a big item we want and call it good all year. We do still try to do little things. For Valentine's Day a friend had suggested doing "14 Days of Valentines." I attempted it...remembered about half the time; it was fun. Ever since we've been married Billy has always made me a Valentine CD. He finds songs on itunes that he knows I'll like and always makes a great cd.
I'm so grateful for Billy in my life. I love him so much!
