Wow! Here's the latest with us....lots and lots has been going on:
Good News:
We're pregnant! After 2 1/2 years of marriage Billy and I are expecting baby #1. To be honest, it still feels very surreal...which I heard is very common for the first baby. I haven't gotten sick really and by looking at me you couldn't tell anything at all was different. I am almost 6 weeks along and the baby is due November 28th. After moving, new job, school, new home, graduation, teaching, etc. the time has finally arrived. We have loved it being just Billy and I and our marriage has been so wonderful as we've been able to spend time together with just us 2, but we are excited to be able to add to our family. We thank the Lord for this wonderful blessing.
Bad News:
Well I told you news, news, and more news. The day Billy found out he was going to be a father his body started to get old....lol! Billy is involved in a lot of different sports. He was playing in a flag football city league and on the day of their playoff game he came down wrong on his knee and did some damage. He finished the game, but soon after knew something was wrong. By the time we got home he could feel a lot of pressure and there was a lot of swelling. We were recommended to a specialist that we've been told is absolutely wonderful. So, the following Monday Billy went to the specialist. The specialist wanted an MRI so later that week Billy got the MRI done. The doctor felt that he had torn his ACL and that surgery was the only option if Billy ever wanted to play sports again. The good news of pregnancy overshadowed this bad news and made it not so bad. With me pregnant and Billy's knee injury, we could see nothing but doctors visits on the horizon.
Good News:
I like to end with good news. Billy got the MRI done and today he returned to the doctor to evaluate what the damage was. To our amazement, Billy did not completely tear his ACL. He has a partial tear....so what does this mean? As long as things go well, Billy will not have to have surgery. Billy will be going to rehab for the next 6 weeks in hopes that with rehab, the knee will heal on its own. He also has cartilege damage, but the doctor also said that it will typically heal on its own also. In addition to all this, he did bruise his bone, but that will heal with time. We are so happy that surgery is not in the plans right now. Billy is still prohibited from sports until a full recovery is made. He will return to the doctor in another 6 weeks for an evaluation. Blessings, blessings, blessings! We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father and know that when we follow Him, our lives will be full of happiness and we will be taken care of!

Superstition Mountains
These are pictures from the hike Billy and I went on together. The hike is 2 trails that become one. You can start from either trail and go a certain distance. After you've gone about 2 miles the trail ends. There is a canyon that separates both trails. With the help of a map and Billy's expertise at directions we were able to do the entire loop, including the canyon. The canyon took a long time because there wasn't any trail and it was full of a lot of brush. There were cacti everywhere and bushes that had thorns all over them. Thankfully we made it through without any problems. The hike is about 5 miles long. It's really fun and because of the rain, it was very green, something a little unusual for Arizona. The weather right now is actually quite wonderful. It is very hot during the summer months, but the winter and spring are great. The temperature everyday has been in the 70s. We are enjoying it because we know in about 2 months it'll be a different story.
Billy did take the YM on this same hike yesterday and they had a lot of fun.
